IAFA Music Lesson Policies
Required Student Participation
1. Regular
daily practice of assigned lessons is expected of all students.
2. A log of daily practice time is recommended for each student.
3. Students who do not practice on a continuing, regular basis may have to forfeit lessons or be asked to terminate lessons. Accounts terminated due to lack of practice time are still responsible for all fees for the entire contract period.
4. All students should plan to attend the student recitals as scheduled.

Lesson Schedule
1. Contracts for lessons are available for six, nine, and twelve month periods.
2. Lessons begin the first of each month and run until the contract expires.
3. Assuming regular attendance on the part of the student, a minimum of ten lessons will be offered during each three-month period.

Billing
1. Billing can be set up two different ways:
- By month
Payments are spread out evenly over a several-month period.
Monthly payments are due by the 5th of each month.
- By entire contract
Payments are made one time for an entire contract period.
Payment due by the fifth day of the first month.
2. Lesson fees are non-refundable.
3. Lessons must be paid by the due date for lessons to continue without interruption.
4. Payments will be made at the Academy office or online.

Past Due Accounts
1. Lessons will be suspended until the account is made current.
2. Lessons missed due to suspension will not be rescheduled.

Lessons Missed
1. It is the student’s responsibility to remember the lesson time.
2. Lessons missed for personal reasons (listed) will not be rescheduled by the instructor. In lieu of missing lessons, students/parents may arrange swap lesson times with another student up to two times per semester with prior approval from the instructor. Please plan accordingly.
- Dental, optometrist, or doctor appointments
- Family outings
- Vacations
- Ball games
- Minor illnesses
